Professor Claude Steele has devoted his professional life to studying stereotypes. He was able to address how they affect people as the speaker at the University of Michigan’s Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Summit.
The event was held on Tuesday in the Michigan League Ballroom. Steele previously worked at UM and he was able to share how to successfully create diverse communities.
He also said that stereotypes do affect people’s performance. In addition to his presentation, there was an update on the work that has been done at the school in relation to improving diversity, equity and inclusion.
