Former astronaut Buzz Aldrin is the definition of an American hero. He was able to share some iconic tales about his life recently as the keynote speaker at the Lean & Six Sigma World Conference.
The event was held on March 29-30 at the Gaylord Opryland Resort & Convention Center in Nashville, Tennessee. On day one, Aldrin opened the event with a presentation titled, “Reach for the Stars.”
The American Quality Institute hosts the event that brings master black belts, black belts, green belts and yellow belts together each spring. In 2017, there were over 50 breakout sessions to take part in.
Aldrin is best known for being the Lunar Module Pilot on Apollo 11. He became the second human to step on the moon’s surface in 1969.
Aldrin was also part of the Gemini 12 mission that went into space. He was a U.S. Air Force officer who achieved the rating of Command Pilot.
Over the years, Aldrin has remained an advocate for space travel. He has written several books and released his latest, “No Dream is Too High,” last year.
