Elon Musk AgentThe CEO and Lead Designer for the company SpaceX has been announced to be the keynote speaker at the 4th Annual International Space Station Research and Development Conference at the Boston Marriott Copley Square from July 7-9. Elon Musk is expected to deliver a great speech with lots of insight given that he works in the aerospace field.

The South African born Canadian-American business man is also an entrepreneur, inventor, investor, and engineer. Musk got his start in the technology world in 1995 when he and his brother developed a web software company called Zip2, which was sold to Compaq for $307 million in cash and $34 million in stock.

In 1999 Musk co-founded X.com and merged the business with Confinity to create what we know to be the online financial service, PayPal. By October 2002 PayPal’s growth had skyrocketed from its inception in 2001 and was purchased by eBay for $1.5 billion, paying Musk a total of $165 million.

The millionaire technology guru then used his earnings to found a third company, SpaceX, which designs and produces space launch vehicles that have a focus in advancing in rocket technology. In 2006 NASA formed a contract with SpaceX to design and test out a new vehicle, which later developed into the creation of the Space Shuttle’s replacement.

In addition to all the previously mentioned companies, Musk is the CEO and product architect for Tesla Motors. The speech he will be given at the 4th Annual International Space Station Research and Development Conference in Boston is likely to have a great turnout, and the audience will get to hear about some of his first hand experiences working in a multitude of technology fields.
